SEOUL, South Korea - A South Korean report has stated that Samsung could soon be scraping the entire Galaxy smartphone series, despite recording strong sales in Asian nations.

The report comes in light of expectations that the South Korea tech firm could launch a couple of new handsets in the same lineup in the U.S.

According to a report in ET News website, Samsung will be expanding its Galaxy A-series smartphones.

The report noted that Galaxy A-series, which is more costlier than the Galaxy J series, will be expanded and lower priced versions might be released.

However, such a move is sure to eliminate the Galaxy J line up completely.

The report also pointed out that is set to bring a more recognized series to affordable prices and said that the trick is being used by Samsung in its efforts to give its Chinese smartphone competitors a tough time.

Further, the report also revealed that Samsung is also aiming to launch its Galaxy M series smartphones, which will replace the Galaxy On range of budget smartphones in countries like India and China.

While Samsung has not officially confirmed the plans, experts have pointed out that this would be a very unlikely path for the smartphone maker.
